For four unforgettable summer days, the historic Old Town of Nuremberg becomes one giant open-air stage, welcoming visitors from around the world to experience one of Europe’s largest free music festivals.
Since its beginnings in 1976, Bardentreffen has grown into an internationally renowned celebration of music, culture, and community. Every year, more than 200,000 visitors enjoy concerts in the heart of the city—all completely free of charge.

The 2026 edition marks the festival’s golden anniversary: 50 years of Bardentreffen.
To celebrate this milestone, the festival begins on Thursday and offers four full days of concerts, cultural events, and international artists. The anniversary program honors the festival’s rich history while looking ahead to the future. It also commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of the famous Nuremberg poet and Meistersinger Hans Sachs.
