Why our hotel is more than just a place to sleep

A hotel can be described quickly: rooms, breakfast, central location.

But this – the Vosteen – is something different. It’s not a place you simply book and leave. It’s a feeling. A home away from home.

Perhaps it’s the soft creaking of the old tiles in the stairwell. The 1950s details that don’t try to look vintage, but are simply authentic. Perhaps it’s the people who work here. Or those who keep coming back – because they know that here, you don’t just stay; you arrive.

We are not an anonymous gray sleeping cube. We are a small, family-run hotel, with history, soul, and a keen sense of what guests really need: peace, friendliness, and a touch of warmth from the heart.

In this blog, we want to share what moves us, what happens behind the scenes – and what makes Nuremberg truly special, beyond the usual paths.

We’re glad you’re here.

Your host Christina

Discover Nuremberg on Foot: Tiergärtnertorplatz & Surroundings

Tiergaertnertor Nuernberg | Nuremberg Tiergaertnertor by Uwe Niklas

Step into our Boutique Hotel Vosteen, and you’ll find yourself just moments away from one of Nuremberg’s most vibrant squares: Tiergärtnertorplatz. Nestled beside the historic Albrecht Dürer House, this charming corner of the city has a unique flair that never fails to captivate our guests.

Nuremberg right on your doorstep
Known affectionately by locals as the Wanderer, Tiergärtnertorplatz is more than just a square – it’s a meeting place, a viewpoint, and a starting point all in one. This is where the true Nuremberg experience begins: historic houses, boutique shops, the famous Dürer House, and perhaps the best Franconian beer in town – served at Café Wanderer. Many guests love to soak up the lively atmosphere while enjoying a cool drink and watching the world go by.

Easily explored on foot or by bike
From Hotel Vosteen, Tiergärtnertorplatz is only a short walk away. Prefer something more active? Take one of our complimentary bicycles and explore the neighborhood at your own pace. Thanks to our central location, you can combine sightseeing, shopping, and culinary discoveries effortlessly – without long walks or the hassle of parking.

Stroll, Browse, Discover
Nuremberg’s old town is best explored on foot, and from here, it couldn’t be easier. Picturesque alleyways, one-of-a-kind shops, and cozy beer gardens lead the way toward the Main Market Square and the Imperial Castle. For those who like to wander off the beaten track, the Castle Quarter reveals half-timbered houses, designer boutiques, antiques, and traditional craftsmanship. A highlight not to be missed: the Handwerkerhof, where pewterers, glass painters, and leather craftsmen showcase their skills in a historic setting.
